Penn Alps Restaurant offers history and a hearty homestyle meal. Located on the National Pike (Route 40) it’s a great destination for a day trip or a pleasant stopping point for a meal when traveling. I can recall when Plyler’s was about half the size and down the street a few blocks but coming back 15 years later I see that they’ve all grown up and gotten a new space at Exit 78 I-80, Brookville, PA.

I tend to be at the hospital for myself or a family member relatively often and we try to have lunch or breakfast out to sweeten the deal by choosing a different place every time. Easter Saturday I went to check out Coca Cafe on Butler Street near Arsenal School for brunch. The building itself, easy to find, is a mixmatch of styles and feels like a big-city cafe with plenty of artsy people hanging around inside and for a Saturday going on lunch-time, it was packed but we did get seated fairly quickly.
